The Center for Domestic Preparedness has released its first Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) offerings for law enforcement officers.
- The Right to Protest and Law Enforcement Response https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-936-V2
- Social Media Strategies for Law Enforcement https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-936-V3
The CDP has also released its VILT schedule for the month of December for all disciplines.
The schedule includes the two new law enforcement courses along with 44 different courses on a wide range of topics, from ‘Contact Tracing for Transmissible Infectious Disease’ and ‘Medical Surge Management’ to ‘Hazardous Materials Response Planning and Management’ and ‘Autism Awareness for Emergency Services.’
Responders can participate in the courses from work, home, or any other location using a computer or compatible mobile device capable of running Adobe Connect. A phone (landline or cellular) is needed to call into a phone bridge. Participation via the virtual classroom and the phone bridge is required in order to receive a certificate of completion.
To register, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/vilt, select the desired course from the list, and click apply. Two business days prior to training you will receive an email with additional information about the course, to include the virtual classroom link and instructions, and the phone bridge number and pin.
