The Center for Domestic Preparedness reached a significant milestone earlier this month when it issued its 10,000th virtual instructor-led training (VILT) completion certificate in 2021.
At that pace, VILT deliveries will become the type of CDP training with the second largest number of course completions annually.
The form of CDP training with the most annual course completions continues to be non-resident training. It accounts for at least half of all CDP course completions in a typical year.
The CDP currently has a library of 56 VILT offerings, including entire CDP courses offered in this format as well as individual modules from select courses. The offerings are geared to a variety of responders, from firefighters and emergency managers to law enforcement officers and medical professionals.
Since the spring of 2020, the CDP has trained nearly 20,000 responders virtually.
Brief descriptions about, and scheduled dates and times of, all CDP VILT presentations can be found at https://cdp.dhs.gov/vilt.
Responders who want to attend a VILT event must register prior to its start date. Once registered, they are provided links and login instructions to the virtual classroom, in addition to other information.
