Security and Emergency Response Training Center (SERTC) Executive Director Forrest Weider represented the NDPC at the 2021 NACo Annual Conference in July. The National Association of Counties (NACo) conference brought together county elected and appointed officials from across the country in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
At the conference, Mr. Weider engaged local, regional, and national leaders on topics related to the NDPC, its training opportunities and resources that may be utilized by leaders to pursue NACo objectives such as:
- Advocate county priorities in federal policymaking
- Promote exemplary county policies and practices
- Nurture leadership skills and expand knowledge networks
- Optimize county and taxpayer resources and cost savings, and
- Enrich the public’s understanding of county government
