This week, FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness concludes its annual Tribal Nations Training Week.
Training during this year’s event spanned more than a month and was held both in residence at the CDP campus in Anniston, Alabama, and virtually.
Resident training was conducted in early March with 75 responders participating in healthcare, law enforcement and emergency management courses.
That was followed by four weeks of virtual training, which included a variety of communications, medical and active shooter response courses.
The CDP conducted its first Tribal Nations Training Week in 2016. Since then, it has presented nearly 4,000 course completion certificates to tribal nation responders.
The annual event is open to anyone who works in an emergency response capacity and is affiliated with one or more tribal nations or the Indian Health Service.
