FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) will offer a week of train-the-trainer courses September 11-16, which will prepare attendees to deliver select CDP training to other responders in their communities.
Train-the-trainer courses serve as a force multiplier, enabling participants to train their agency members, partnering agencies and communities in recognition, response and mitigation best practices. Instructor development and train-the-trainer courses are relevant for a wide variety of professional disciplines, including law enforcement, healthcare, emergency management, the fire service, emergency medical services, public health and other disciplines.

Hazardous Materials Awareness (HMA) and HMA Train-the-Trainer with Incident Complexities – Responder Actions for CBRNE Incidents, which teach students how to identify hazardous materials, their risks, and proper protective actions. Law Enforcement Protective Measures for CBRNE Incidents (LEPM) and LEPM Train-the-Trainer, in conjunction with Intermediate Hands-On Training for CBRNE Incidents: Law Enforcement, and Law Enforcement Response Actions for CBRNE Incidents, which focus on protective measures officers need to employ in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive incident. Instructor Training Week offerings are developed and approved by FEMA and the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium and are fully funded for state, local, tribal and territorial responders, including round-trip travel, lodging and meals.
