Curriculum developers at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness are currently ‘storyboarding’ a Hazardous Materials Operations Refresher course to add to the center’s growing inventory of online training offerings.

The developers say when it’s completed, the course will be between 4 and 8 hours in length and provide “a comprehensive review of all hazardous materials operations competencies defined by the National Fire Protection Association.”

They add the course is being created to help responders “who have completed a full Hazardous Materials Operations training program and require refresher training, particularly those who require the training to maintain their qualification or certification.”

If all goes as planned, the course should be available sometime in the fall or winter.

The CDP’s online training library currently houses 15 courses for responders in a variety of disciplines.

Brief descriptions about the offerings, as well as information on how to register for the courses, can be found at https://cdp.dhsgov/online_course.
