Curriculum developers and instructors at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness are busy creating a virtual version of the center’s Respiratory Protection: Program Development and Administration (RP) course.
The resident version of the course is three days long and includes a number of hands-on activities at the center’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological, or COBRA, training facility.
The virtual version will be done on a more aggressive timeline and include step-by-step videos to help students through the hands-on portions of the course.
The RP course provides responders essential information and required skills to develop, implement, administer and sustain a legally and regulatory-compliant respiratory protection program.
The virtual version of the RP course is expected to be available sometime in the spring.
Brief descriptions about and scheduled dates and times all CDP VILT presentations can be found at https://cdp.dhs.gov/vilt.
Responders who want to attend an event will need to register prior to its start date. Once registered, they will be provided the links and login instructions to the on-line classroom, in addition to other information.
