FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) is gearing up for its annual Tribal Nations Training Week, the largest event of its type in the Department of Homeland Security.
The week of resident courses will be conducted March 11-18 at the center’s campus in Anniston, Alabama, and will incorporate training from the CDP and several of its partner organizations, including the Emergency Management Institute, National Domestic Preparedness Training Center, National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center, and the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium.
The training is open to anyone who works in an emergency response capacity and is affiliated with one or more tribal nations or the Indian Health Service.
The theme of 2023 Tribal Nations Training Week – Healing the Nations. Strong, Unified, Prepared – was chosen by a working group comprised of responders from five tribal nations and representatives of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium, which includes the CDP, and the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium.
